Description
Slippery Elm – natural feed supplement with gelatinous plant fibers
Slippery Elm (red elm bark) is a traditional, plant-based feed supplement, especially known for its ability to form a soft, gelatinous consistency when it comes into contact with liquid. This makes it suitable as a supplement for dogs who need gentle and natural support for their feed.
Slippery Elm is known to support the digestive system. Slippery Elm contains mucilages (hence the name Slippery) that develop a jelly-like consistency when dissolved in water.
The mucilages form a protective film upon ingestion and help to lubricate the mouth, throat, and digestive system. Slippery Elm helps to absorb impurities and waste products.
What is Slippery Elm?
Slippery Elm comes from the inner bark of the elm tree (Ulmus rubra) and has been used for centuries as part of the original diet and care in North America. The bark contains natural plant fibers and mucilages, which turn into a soft gel when mixed with water. This makes it easy to mix into feed – or give as a liquid mixture.
Sustainable origin
Our Slippery Elm is wild-harvested in the Appalachian Mountains, where only the inner bark is harvested. It is then gently dried, cleaned, and ground – without additives – to preserve its quality and effect.
How to use it

1 measuring spoon = approx. 1.25 g (level)
