Description

Sund Hundemat's freeze-dried medallions are a dry complete feed and have the same content as their fresh raw medallions – i.e., everything your dog needs. They can therefore be given directly as they are, for example, as reward treats for training, competition, or travel, or used as a complete feed for daily feeding when water is added.

Unlike the production of ordinary dry food, freeze-drying takes place without the use of heat. This preserves all natural nutrients in their original form without being destroyed or degraded, and there is no need to add anything afterwards. The food is easy to dose and perfectly suited for small and medium-sized dogs – as well as cats.

Perfect to bring for training and competitions, in the car, boat, or summer house, or when traveling.

COMPOSITION

Lamb tripe (approx. 50%), meat (approx. 35%), cartilage (approx. 10%) and offal (approx. 5% – heart, liver, kidney).

FEEDING GUIDE

1 freeze-dried medallion corresponds to approx. 30 g fresh food.
Each bag contains approx. 15–17 medallions.

The table applies to adult dogs (>12 months) and corresponds to approx. 2% of body weight.

Dog breed (example) Desired adult weight Amount of food per day
Maltese 2–3 kg 1–2 medallions
Dachshund 4–5 kg 3–4 medallions
Pug 6–7 kg 4–5 medallions
Bichon Havanese 8–9 kg 5.5–6 medallions

Puppies, young dogs, and pregnant bitches

Puppies, young dogs, and pregnant bitches have different nutritional needs than adult dogs. These needs are met by giving a larger amount of food. As a rule, the food intake is doubled, and the daily amount typically corresponds to 4–6% of body weight.

When feeding with freeze-dried food, the daily ration is reduced in weight, as the product contains almost no water.
Puppies and young dogs should be fed 2–3 times daily. They are growing and need ample nutrition. Let the puppy eat its fill, but monitor its weight.

Pregnant bitches should have free access to food.

Adult dogs (over 12 months)

As a general rule, it is recommended to give adult dogs approx. 2% of body weight in fresh food per day. When using freeze-dried food, the amount is reduced as the water content is very low.

Larger dog breeds often need a lower percentage of food than smaller breeds, as their body surface is smaller in relation to body volume. The need can therefore vary between 1–3% of body weight per day, or 12–20% of body weight per week.

Serve food 1–2 times daily.
