What is freeze-drying – and why is it brilliant?
Freeze-drying is a gentle process that preserves the food's nutritional value while removing all moisture. This results in a long-lasting, compact and lightweight product that is reconstituted when you add water.
Because the food is not heat-treated, vitamins, bacteria, enzymes and proteins remain intact – and the structure is naturally restored when water is added before serving.
How much should my dog get?
For raw feeding, an adult dog typically needs 1–2% of its body weight daily.
Freeze-dried food weighs approximately one third of raw food:
100g freeze-dried = approx. 300g raw frozen food
Example:
A 20 kg dog needs 200–400 g of raw food daily.
If you assume 300 g, this corresponds to 100 g of freeze-dried food.
🔸 Always start by trying new food at home and adjust the amount according to your dog's needs.
